Life Cycle:  Summer annual

Description:  The growth habit is an erect annual, can grow as tall as six feet. The leaves form a basal rosette and become sessile (no petiole) as the plant matures. The inflorescence ocurrs at the top of the central stem and is said to resemble a mare's tail.
